EmbryoGlue® increases take home baby rate

A prospective, randomised study presented at ESHRE 2011 showed a significant increase in take home baby rate when using EmbryoGlue® for transfer, compared to the control group.

The take home baby rate for embryo transfer on day 5 was 63.4% using EmbryoGlue compared to 52.2% in the control group1.

EmbryoGlue® increases clinical pregnancy rates
The independent research network Cochrane Collaboration has published a meta analysis including 13 randomized, controlled, prospective studies on hyaluronan as an adherence compound in embryo transfers. The analysis showed that "A clear positive effect of having hyaluronic acid in the embryo transfer medium was identified overall and even for embryos that had been grown in hyaluronic acid containing media up until transfer", meaning that EmbryoGlue® has a positive effect on embryo transfers.

Helping the embryo implant
Embryo transfer are one of the most sensitive and critical procedures in IVF treatment. From retrieval to transfer, you can help the embryo develop by providing optimal culture conditions. After transfer, the embryo has to rely on its own ability to implant. Using a hyaluronan-rich medium will promote a successful implantation. With EmbryoGlue®, you can help Mother Nature and go the extra mile for your patients, helping them to bring a child home.

Hyaluronan makes the difference
EmbryoGlue® has the basic composition of a rich blastocyst culture medium and contains a high concentration of hyaluronan and recombinant human albumin. It can be used for transfer of all embryo developmental stages, including embryos after assisted hatching, biopsy and cryopreservation. The use of EmbryoGlue® for embryo transfer will increase the clinical pregnancy rate and following delivery rate and there are many studies to show it.

How does is work?
EmbryoGlue® contains all nutrients and energy sources needed for an optimal embryo development. And, most importantly, the medium contains a high concentration of implantation promoting hyaluronan Hyaluronan is the major glycosaminoglycan present in the follicular, oviductal and uterine fluids2,3,4. The physiological concentrations in these fluids provide high viscosity environments
in the oviduct and uterus5. The synthesis of hyaluronan increases dramatically on the day upon which implantation is initiated and it decreases to near basal levels by the next day, indicating its importance for the implantation event. Other types of glycosaminoglycans do not show an elevated synthesis at the time of implantation 6,7.

Safe implantation
EmbryoGlue® contains recombinant human albumin for avoiding the risks related to blood derived compounds.
